10KMedia, a boutique PR firm that specializes in shift-left security and developer tooling, added Apiiro to its list of elite startups. With over $135 million in funding from General Catalyst, Greylock Partners, Kleiner Perkins, and others, Apiiro is a pioneer in application security.
According to Adam LaGreca, founder of 10KMedia, “I look for next generation security companies that understand the importance of the holistic development environment and process. Apiiro’s disruptive approach to application security offers complete context and visibility into code bases, assessing risks as early as the design phase to drastically reduce triage time for security and development teams,” according to the company.”
The Cloud Application Security platform from Apiiro links the connections between software supply chain security, software bill of materials (SBOM), application security testing (AST), and application security posture management (ASPM). To protect teams’ development and delivery to the cloud, Apiiro combines application risk visibility, prioritization, and remediation as opposed to silos point solutions.
Apiiro is used by security and development teams at Morgan Stanley, SoFi, Colgate, Navan, Rakuten, and other companies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their AppSec initiatives. Apiiro won the top prize from the RSAC Innovation Sandbox not long after coming out of stealth in 2021 and was named a Gartner Cool Vendor.
Payton O’Neal, Director of Marketing at Apiiro, expressed excitement about the company’s upcoming inclusion in the 10KMedia cohort of outstanding startups. “We’re here to cause a stir and make a significant impact on AppSec teams and developers who are constantly being overburdened with additional responsibilities and risks in our cloud-native environment.”
