DataDome and Botify Partner To Power Secure Agentic Commerce

As artificial intelligence increasingly influences how consumers discover and purchase products online, businesses are facing new challenges around visibility, security, and trust in AI-driven shopping environments. DataDome and Botify have announced a strategic partnership aimed at helping organizations manage the entire agentic commerce journey, from AI-powered discovery to secure digital transactions.

DataDome, a leader in bot and agent trust management, and Botify, a platform specializing in AI search optimization, are combining their technologies to help brands navigate the rapidly evolving ecosystem of AI assistants and automated agents interacting with e-commerce platforms.

Recent research conducted jointly by DataDome, Botify, and Retail Economics highlights the growing role of AI in online shopping behavior. The study found that 73% of consumers have used AI assistants, and 38% have already used them for shopping-related activities such as product discovery, comparisons, and recommendations. At the same time, AI-driven bot traffic to retail and e-commerce websites has surged significantly, often exceeding the pace of consumer adoption.

This shift introduces both opportunity and risk. As AI agents become intermediaries between consumers and digital storefronts, companies must ensure their websites and product data are accessible to legitimate AI systems while preventing abuse from malicious bots.

According to DataDome’s threat research team, Galileo, 80% of AI agents currently fail to properly identify themselves when accessing websites. This lack of transparency can distort marketing analytics, inflate referral signals, and lead businesses to make incorrect commercial decisions based on misleading data. It also opens the door to potential fraud and operational vulnerabilities.

The partnership between DataDome and Botify is designed to address these challenges through a combined approach. Botify provides tools that help businesses optimize their digital content and product data so AI agents can easily discover, interpret, and display it to consumers. DataDome complements this capability by identifying which agents are legitimate and which represent potentially harmful automated traffic.

“Agentic traffic is distorting marketing data and reshaping how consumers discover and evaluate products,” said Aurelie Guerrieri, Chief Marketing and Alliances Officer at DataDome. “Businesses that can’t distinguish a trusted AI agent from an abusive one aren’t just exposed to risk; they’re flying blind on strategy. Blocking all agents isn’t the answer, but neither is letting everything through.”

Botify’s technology focuses on ensuring that product catalogs, metadata, and structured content are optimized for AI discovery. This includes helping organizations standardize product attributes and expose machine-readable data that AI systems rely on when recommending products or answering consumer queries.

“AI agents are now the intermediary between your customers and your products,” said Joe Doran, Chief Product Officer at Botify. “If your content isn’t structured and optimized for how AI agents search, your products won’t be found.”

By combining AI search optimization with bot and agent verification, the partnership gives businesses greater visibility into how AI systems interact with their websites. It also enables organizations to manage their full AI-driven commerce funnel with improved control, security, and actionable insights.

As AI assistants continue to reshape digital shopping behavior, the collaboration between DataDome and Botify aims to provide brands with the tools needed to balance accessibility, performance, and trust in the emerging era of agentic commerce.
