MobileFuse Expands Climate Leadership With CarbonNeutral Company Certification

MobileFuse, one of the largest in-app, CTV and digital out-of-home advertising platforms, announced it achieved Climate Impact Partner’s CarbonNeutral company certification in line with The CarbonNeutral Protocol, the clear, credible, and transparent framework for carbon neutrality. MobileFuse also has three years of emissions inventories publicly reported by The Climate Registry. These milestones underscore the company’s commitment to sustainability, and its leadership in driving positive change within the digital advertising industry.

The CarbonNeutral Protocol was created and is managed by Climate Impact Partners, leaders in developing and delivering high-quality carbon market solutions for climate action. It was the first clear set of guidelines for businesses to achieve carbon neutrality back in 2002, and is updated annually with input from an Advisory Council of external experts to ensure it reflects the latest industry and scientific best practice.

“At MobileFuse, we believe meaningful sustainability initiatives should go beyond promises and translate into measurable impact,” said Chris Hughes, Head of Mobile Innovation & Sustainability at MobileFuse. “Achieving CarbonNeutral ® company certification and earning recognition from The Climate Registry validates our company-wide efforts to reduce emissions and optimize our processes. We’re dedicated to finding new ways of minimizing our environmental footprint – all while maintaining excellence in digital advertising ecosystem.”

A Legacy of Climate Commitment

This news builds on a history of MobileFuse’s climate-conscious initiatives. Notably, the company is a founding supporter of Ad Net Zero USA – as an early backer of this industry-wide coalition, MobileFuse contributed to reducing the carbon footprint of its advertising offerings. A key focus is widespread education and climate action, including delivering a US-specific version of the Ad Net Zero Training to help marketing professionals integrate sustainability into their workflows.

Additionally, the company achieved carbon negative status in 2022. MobileFuse was the first advertising technology platform to reach this milestone. Through technical optimizations, including dynamic server scaling and AI-driven ad opportunity predictions, the company reduced emissions associated with server usage by over 50%.

MobileFuse also pioneered an Employee Green Energy Program. The company discovered that 44% of its emissions stemmed from employee home energy consumption. With this in mind, the company launched this initiative to help employees transition to renewable energy sources, offering financial support for the shift. MobileFuse was recognized as the 2024 Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards winner in the “Sustainability Best Practice Award – Ad Tech Services (The Americas)” category.

“Our approach helps organizations address their environmental impacts through high-quality carbon market solutions that also deliver positive impact for nature and local communities. MobileFuse’s certification is a strong achievement, showcasing how the company is actively working to compensate for its environmental footprint and make positive change in their industry,” said Adam Croley, Head of Client Solutions in the Americas for Climate Impact Partners. “By utilizing our approach, MobileFuse is helping create a more sustainable world.”

“MobileFuse consistently sets new standards for what real environmental sustainability looks like in the ad tech sector. This starts with consistently reporting its verified GHG data and being among the first ad tech platforms to be certified as a CarbonNeutral ® company. But their commitment to empowering employees through the Green Energy Program is truly ground-breaking,” said Brian Murphy, Founder of Alpine Project. “MobileFuse’s commitment to sustainability sets a high bar for innovation and accountability. It’s one of the key reasons we’re proud to partner with them on these important initiatives.”
