Box and AWS Partner on AI to Transform Enterprise Content Management

Box and Amazon Web Services have entered a new multi year strategic collaboration designed to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence across enterprise content management. The agreement strengthens the long standing partnership between the two companies and aims to help organizations securely apply AI to the documents, data and workflows that define their business operations. With this announcement, Box will begin building new AI agents powered by AWS technologies, while also introducing a series of integrations that deepen automation and insight extraction across its Intelligent Content Management platform.

The collaboration centers on unlocking the value contained in enterprise content, which Box CEO Aaron Levie described as the context that powers meaningful AI applications. “AI is only as powerful as the context it can access – and that context often lives within the contracts, plans, and ideas that make a business run,” he said. “At Box, we’re focused on unlocking the insights from enterprise content that enable AI agents to deliver real impact. By collaborating with AWS, we’re giving customers a secure, scalable foundation to turn their content into a competitive advantage.”

Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of Agentic AI at AWS, noted that AI agents are reshaping workplace operations at a rapid pace. “Today AI agents are transforming how we work,” he said. “Through our Box collaboration, we’re excited to help customers securely leverage their valuable business content with agentic capabilities, transforming how industries operate by making every piece of content work effectively.”

As part of the announcement, Box introduced a range of new AI powered capabilities built through AWS services. The first includes Box AI agents developed with Amazon Bedrock, which will support automated workflow creation, summary generation for lengthy documents, multi document FAQs, metadata extraction for search and compliance, and intelligent task automation. These agents can be tailored to specific business requirements using Bedrock’s model customization options.

Box will also use Amazon Nova Multimodal Embeddings to give customers a unified way to analyze and generate insights from text, images, video and audio stored in Box. This multimodal understanding will help drive more accurate discovery, classification and automated workflows. In addition, Box is launching an Amazon Quick Suite integration that enables customers to pull insights, generate files and act on their content directly from Quick Suite. Customization of Amazon Q Developer on the Box SDK and its self hosted MCP server is also now available, making it easier for developers to build intelligent applications on top of Box’s platform.

The collaboration expands further with compatibility for Amazon Strands, Kiro and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, offering enhanced orchestration between AI agents and the Box platform. This will allow organizations, including those in highly regulated industries, to adopt AI while maintaining strict security and compliance requirements.

In another significant development, Box will join AWS Marketplace in early 2026. This will give qualified customers a streamlined procurement path to adopt Box offerings inside their AWS environments, simplifying deployment and expanding access to enterprise grade content management capabilities enhanced by AI.

Overall, the partnership positions Box and AWS to deliver a new wave of AI driven content solutions that support productivity, automation and intelligent decision making at scale.
