As information environments grow more fragmented and contested, global institutions are investing in advanced intelligence platforms to monitor narratives and respond to emerging threats. NATO has selected a consortium led by Brandwatch and Blackbird.AI to deliver a new Information Environment Assessment Capability through the NATO Communications and Information Agency.

The consortium, selected by the NATO Communications and Information Agency on behalf of NATO, will provide a secure and scalable platform equipped with AI enabled tools to monitor, analyze, and interpret the global information environment. The capability is designed to draw from public and commercially available data sources, delivering a bespoke enterprise wide social intelligence solution that combines media monitoring, sentiment analysis, and trend detection.

The system will support decision making across the NATO enterprise by helping assess and respond to evolving narrative threats, including disinformation and harmful narratives circulating across complex digital ecosystems. By integrating broad data coverage with advanced analytics, the solution aims to enhance situational awareness and strengthen strategic communications efforts within the Alliance.

This award builds on Brandwatch longstanding collaboration with NATO and underscores the consortium role as a provider of mission ready digital intelligence. The platform is structured to integrate extensive data sources and enrichments to support the Information Environment Assessment community in planning and analysis within a fast moving environment.

The initiative brings together capabilities from across the Cision portfolio, including Trajaan search intelligence technology, which identifies emerging trends and intent signals among global audiences. Specialist partners Osavul and Converseon also contribute complementary expertise, creating a comprehensive solution tailored to the needs of NATO strategic communicators.
