As visual content becomes central to modern digital experiences, developers are increasingly expected to manage complex image and video workflows at scale. Cloudinary’s launch of the Cloudinary Creators Community reflects growing industry demand for practical education and collaboration focused on building performance driven visual applications.
Cloudinary, a platform widely used by global brands for image and video management, announced the creation of the Cloudinary Creators Community, a worldwide network designed to help developers connect, learn, and advance skills related to visual media optimization. The initiative offers free educational resources, certification programs, collaborative projects, and hands on training aimed at improving how developers build and deliver visual experiences across digital products.
The community’s first educational offering, titled Cloud to Crowd: Media IQ for Developers with Next.js, focuses on teaching participants how to build, manage, and optimize visual media at scale using modern development frameworks. The course emphasizes practical implementation, reflecting the increasing importance of media performance, delivery efficiency, and scalability in web and application development.
To expand accessibility, Cloudinary has partnered with five international nonprofit organizations that will deliver training through structured cohorts and bootcamps. These partnerships are intended to broaden participation while supporting developers from diverse educational and geographic backgrounds. The founding nonprofit collaborators include Developers in Vogue in Ghana, GirlScript in India, Hack Your Future in Denmark, Tampa Devs in the United States, and Vets Who Code, a US based organization supporting veterans pursuing technical careers.
“Partnering with Cloudinary allows us to empower creators and developers in an area that’s rarely taught, but deeply essential in today’s digital products,” said Anubha Maneshwar, Founding Director of GirlScript Foundation.
Participants in the community gain access to a dedicated collaboration environment where they can attend expert webinars, contribute to open source projects, receive mentorship, and build professional portfolios through real world learning experiences. The program aims to bridge the gap between theoretical development education and the practical skills required to manage high volume visual content systems.
“The Cloudinary Creators Community is a practical learning environment, not a marketing initiative,” explained Jen Looper, Director of Developer Relations at Cloudinary. “It offers members the opportunity to acquire valuable skills for tackling complex, high-volume image and video management challenges. These skills are essential in today’s visual economy and give participants the practical expertise to help them advance their careers, no matter where they are based.”
Cloudinary says the initiative responds to a broader shift toward a visual first internet, where performance optimization, media APIs, and developer focused infrastructure are becoming foundational components of digital product design. By combining education, collaboration, and certification pathways, the Cloudinary Creators Community aims to equip developers with specialized capabilities often underrepresented in traditional technology training programs.
As organizations increasingly rely on rich media experiences to engage users, initiatives that expand developer expertise in visual technologies are expected to play a growing role in shaping the next generation of digital platforms and content driven applications.
