Confluent Launches Confluent Intelligence To Bridge the AI Context Gap

Confluent Launches Confluent Intelligence

Confluent Inc., known for pioneering data streaming and listed on Nasdaq under CFLT, has introduced Confluent Intelligence, a new solution designed to help organizations unlock real time artificial intelligence systems by filling what it describes as the AI context gap. The company says this technology provides a faster and more reliable way to build intelligent applications that can continuously access and process the most current and historic information. Running entirely on Confluent Cloud, it gives businesses a fully managed path to move event driven AI from early experiments into large scale production. By streaming high quality data directly into AI operations, Confluent Intelligence aims to ensure that decisions made by AI applications are more trustworthy, grounded, and secure.

For many enterprises, data quality and accessibility remain a barrier to achieving meaningful results with generative AI initiatives. The significance of reliable data was highlighted by Atilio Ranzuglia, Head of Data and AI at Palmerston North City Council, who said, “Good AI needs good data. Confluent is our trusted source of truth, streaming high quality data to our data lakes and AI platforms to train models in real time. It provides context and orchestration for our agents to automate workflows, accelerating our smart city transformation.”

Recent findings from MIT’s The State of AI in Business 2025 report reveal that companies have invested between 30 and 40 billion dollars into generative AI solutions, yet 95 percent of those efforts have failed to generate returns. Confluent points to the lack of contextual understanding as the core issue. AI models trained only on static information struggle to interpret evolving environments or understand relationships between data points. Confluent believes its continuously streaming data infrastructure allows AI systems to evaluate what has occurred previously and adapt instantly to what is unfolding in the present, creating a foundation for intelligent automation.

Jay Kreps, Co founder and CEO at Confluent, explained this mission by stating, “We started Confluent to take on one of the hardest problems in data: helping information move freely across a business so companies can act in real time. That same foundation uniquely positions Confluent to close the AI context gap. Off the shelf models are powerful, but without the continuous flow of data, they can’t deliver decisions that are timely and uniquely valuable to a business. That’s where data streaming becomes essential.”

Confluent Intelligence combines capabilities powered by Apache Kafka and Apache Flink, giving enterprises built in governance, low latency operations, and the ability to replay data for accurate outcomes. The company emphasizes that these features will help organizations move faster from ideas to operational value. Nithin Prasad, Senior Engineering Manager at GEP, noted how essential Confluent has been for real time intelligence in supply chain systems, saying, “AI powered procurement and supply chain use cases are at the core of what GEP does. Confluent helps make them possible by providing a data streaming platform that fuels our models with real time streaming data and eliminates fear of data loss.”

As part of this launch, Confluent also expanded its collaboration with Anthropic. Claude will serve as the default large language model for Confluent’s Streaming Agents, supported directly within its cloud platform. The integration is expected to allow enterprises to build adaptive systems such as advanced anomaly detection and instant personalization, combining Anthropic’s reasoning abilities with continuously updated operational data.
