DealerBuilt has introduced the Lightyear Enterprise Retail Cloud, a new platform designed to modernize how large automotive dealer groups manage sales, inventory, and accounting across multiple rooftops. The launch will take place at the National Automobile Dealers Association Show, running February 3–6, 2026, and signals a significant step forward in enterprise-scale automotive retail operations.
The new Lightyear Enterprise Retail Cloud is built to address a long-standing operational challenge for auto groups: selling inventory seamlessly across multiple locations without triggering complex, manual accounting processes for each individual dealership. As consolidation accelerates in automotive retail, dealer groups are increasingly expected to operate as unified enterprises rather than disconnected rooftops. DealerBuilt’s latest release aims to make that shift practical and scalable.
DealerBuilt, known for its dealership management system, CRM, desking tools, service lane solutions, AI, and marketing analytics, developed Lightyear using direct feedback from large dealer groups. The platform enables cross-rooftop vehicle and parts sales within a single enterprise framework, eliminating the need for separate intercompany accounting transactions when inventory moves between stores.
“Dealerships move fast, and being able to sell across rooftops in a large group can often be burdensome due to the manual process needed,” said Eric Kaser, Chief Revenue Officer of DealerBuilt. “Our innovative technology is designed to elevate the dealership experience, offering unparalleled flexibility, efficiency, and control in managing operations.”
At the core of Lightyear is an enterprise accounting model supported by a single enterprise name file and shared inventory visibility. Rather than maintaining separate databases for each rooftop, dealer groups can now operate from one unified system. This approach reduces administrative overhead, supports centralized and remote accounting workflows, and allows marketing and sales teams to engage customers across the entire group more effectively.
For customers, the impact is immediate. Sales teams gain real-time access to vehicles and parts available at sister stores, making it easier to locate the right inventory and close deals without delays. For dealer groups, the increased visibility and frictionless cross-selling help improve inventory turn while maintaining financial accuracy at the enterprise level.
DealerBuilt says the platform has already been battle-tested by some of the largest and highest-volume dealer groups in the United States, ensuring it can handle the operational demands of organizations with dozens or even hundreds of rooftops. The system is designed to scale alongside dealer groups as they expand through acquisition or organic growth.
Early adopters are already seeing measurable benefits. “DealerBuilt’s innovative platform has been a game-changer for us,” said Jayson Kincaid, Chief Financial Officer of Performance Automotive Network. “The efficiencies created by DealerBuilt have decreased expenses while increasing revenue. We are now able to do more with less while creating better customer experiences that grow our business and our reputation in the market.”
DealerBuilt will showcase the Lightyear Enterprise Retail Cloud at booth 2015W during the NADA Show in Las Vegas. The launch reinforces the company’s broader portfolio, which also includes Oplogic for variable operations, iService for fixed operations, and Vistadash for marketing analytics.
As dealer groups continue to consolidate and operate at greater scale, platforms like Lightyear are positioning enterprise automotive retailers to move faster, sell smarter, and manage their businesses as unified organizations rather than fragmented locations.
