Genius Sports and Magnite Integrate Live Sports Signals for CTV

As live sports continue to command rare levels of simultaneous viewer attention, advertising technology companies are racing to deliver more precise and measurable ways to activate campaigns in real time. The new integration between Genius Sports and Magnite embeds official sports data directly into programmatic infrastructure, marking a significant evolution in how live sports inventory is bought and monetized across connected television and digital channels.

Genius Sports announced a direct integration between its official Moment Engine and Magnite, the largest independent sell side advertising platform. The partnership enables verified, real time sports signals generated by Genius Sports to flow directly into Magnite’s ClearLine platform for curation and activation. As a result, advertisers can trigger campaigns around official in game moments across premium CTV and digital inventory transacted through Magnite.

The integration is designed to address a longstanding challenge in live sports advertising: synchronizing brand messaging with key game events at scale while maintaining authentication and measurement standards. Live sports remain one of the few media environments capable of delivering mass, concurrent engagement. By embedding official league data into programmatic workflows, the companies aim to redefine how live sports inventory is authenticated, executed, and measured.

Genius Sports’ Moment Engine identifies significant in game events as they occur and converts them into verified advertising signals. These signals activate natively as Deals within Magnite’s ClearLine environment. The system is powered exclusively by official league data and enriched by the Genius Fan Graph, which includes more than 250 million United States consumers, enabling deterministic fan identity matching alongside authenticated sports moments.

During major events such as the NCAA basketball tournaments, a decisive late game scoring play captured through official data can be transformed instantly into an advertising trigger within ClearLine. That trigger activates a pre configured Deal aligned to relevant fan audiences across premium CTV inventory within seconds. Because the signals originate from official sources rather than delayed or probabilistic feeds, advertisers gain real time access to peak engagement windows through their existing programmatic buying workflows.

The companies say this approach shifts live sports advertising from contextual approximation toward authenticated execution, delivering greater precision and enhanced value for premium inventory. The integration complements Magnite’s live streaming tools, including Live Scheduler, which provides a standardized framework for planning, activating, and measuring live CTV campaigns.

“This marks a structural shift in how live sports is monetized in digital environments,” said Josh Linforth, Chief Revenue Officer at Genius Sports. “For the first time, advertisers can activate against official, verified sports moments inside scaled programmatic infrastructure in real time. By combining exclusive league data, deterministic fan intelligence, and premium supply, we are building the control layer for live sports advertising.”

“By layering the Genius Sports Moment Engine into our platform, we’re delivering the precision and speed that live sports demand,” said Mike Laband, Group SVP, US Revenue at Magnite. “This synchronization allows advertisers to align their messaging with the pulse of the game across our premium publisher footprint. Providing this level of accuracy and contextual relevance is a game changer for how the industry values and monetizes live streaming.”

The solution is expected to be available in time for the 2026 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. Following the anticipated acquisition of Legend, Genius Sports plans to expand the Moment Engine with additional fan audiences and engagement signals, further strengthening its position in the evolving live sports advertising market.
