The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence in global communication is accelerating demand for solutions that include the diverse range of languages spoken around the world. In a move that underscores the growing importance of inclusivity in AI technology, Gloo announced that it has acquired XRI Global, an AI company specializing in voice and multilingual AI solutions. The acquisition is intended to significantly deepen Gloo technology portfolio and open new opportunities across the international faith and flourishing ecosystem the organization serves.
Gloo, listed on Nasdaq under the symbol GLOO, is a technology platform designed to support partners within the faith community and human development sectors. The company stated that bringing XRI into the organization will enhance the capabilities of existing solutions such as Gloo AI and Gloo360, enabling broader global reach and enriched engagement tools that can be accessed in thousands of languages.

Founded in 2018, XRI has built advanced expertise in low resource language technology and voice AI that enables organizations to communicate with communities historically excluded from digital systems. More than seven thousand languages are spoken globally and approximately six thousand eight hundred of them are not represented in mainstream AI development. XRI has created a research driven methodology that allows AI models to scale even to languages with no available training data or formal writing structure.
Over the past eighteen months, XRI has constructed AI models for more than thirty languages and its team includes specialists with doctoral degrees in machine learning, computational linguistics and theoretical linguistics, with professional experience at leading global companies including Meta and Google.
Daniel Wilson, CEO of XRI Global, emphasized the broader impact of the acquisition. “Together, Gloo and XRI can pioneer a new category: mission aligned AI infrastructure that is global in reach, grounded in shared values, and designed to accelerate human flourishing,” Wilson said. “AI investment is surging across the development sector, yet the language gap prevents these tools from reaching the very communities they are meant to serve.”
XRI has supported several technology and humanitarian initiatives through projects across the faith and flourishing ecosystem. These include work as a past subgrantee for a Gates Foundation supported initiative through Clear Global and the provision of end to end data collection solutions that helped enable language expansion for the Every Tribe Every Nation Innovation Lab.

Steele Billings, president of Gloo AI, said the acquisition arrives at a time when AI accessibility has become an essential requirement. “As AI transforms the way the world communicates, billions of people risk being left behind simply because their languages are not represented in today frontier models,” Billings said. “By combining XRI Global world class engineering with Gloo values aligned approach to AI, we are taking a bold step toward closing that gap within the faith and flourishing ecosystem.”
With XRI now integrated, Gloo plans to scale trusted multilingual AI and voice solutions across its global network. The company states that the expanded capability will open new international markets, strengthen platform value, and provide the infrastructure needed to ensure communities speaking languages traditionally overlooked by large technology platforms can fully participate in the evolving digital future.
The acquisition signals a shift toward inclusion driven AI development, one where linguistic access and cultural relevance become essential pillars of innovation. As organizations around the world seek equitable engagement, the collaboration between Gloo and XRI may represent a new model for building AI that is both technologically advanced and globally accessible.
