Guideline Launches MCP Server for AI Media Planning

Guideline has introduced a new AI connectivity solution designed to transform how media planning and buying teams interact with campaign data. The company announced the launch of its Media Plan Management MCP Server, a platform capability that allows agencies, media buyers, and enterprise clients to connect their own AI agents directly to Guideline’s media planning and management environment.

The new server is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) an emerging open standard that enables AI agents to connect seamlessly with external platforms and tools. With this release, Guideline aims to simplify complex media planning workflows while enabling organizations to integrate AI-driven automation across their existing advertising operations.

Traditionally, media planning and buying processes require teams to work across multiple systems, export data manually, and consolidate reports from different sources. As campaigns become more complex and span multiple markets, these fragmented workflows can slow decision-making and reduce operational efficiency.

Guideline’s MCP Server addresses these challenges by providing a standardized, plug-and-play connection between AI agents and its media plan management platform. The system eliminates the need for custom API development or complex integrations, allowing companies to connect compatible AI tools instantly.

With the new solution, teams can link AI agents such as those powered by conversational platforms or proprietary internal systems directly to their media plan data. Planners and buyers can then interact with campaigns through natural language queries, asking questions about campaign status, budget allocations, vendor performance, or plan-to-actual comparisons and receiving immediate responses.

This conversational approach enables media professionals to analyze campaign performance and make strategic decisions more quickly without navigating multiple dashboards or waiting for manual reports.

The adoption of the Model Context Protocol is a key part of the platform’s architecture. Originally introduced by Anthropic, MCP has quickly gained industry support and is now backed by major technology providers including OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft. Analysts predict that 75% of enterprise gateway vendors will adopt MCP capabilities by the end of 2026, reflecting the growing importance of standardized AI integration frameworks.

“Our customers have highlighted that media planning and buying is increasing in complexity, and as a result many are deploying AI agents to manage this growing sophistication,” said Vincent Mifsud, CEO of Guideline. “By launching our MCP Server, we’re ensuring that Guideline is at the center of this transformation, providing the AI-native infrastructure clients need to streamline workflows and focus on strategy.”

For agencies and brands, the MCP Server changes how teams interact with media plans on a daily basis. Instead of switching between multiple platforms or manually exporting campaign data, planners can use AI assistants to retrieve insights, analyze performance trends, and generate summaries directly within their existing AI tools.

The system also supports multi-step analysis, allowing AI agents to consolidate data across campaigns, clients, and markets during a single conversation. To maintain security and governance, the MCP Server currently provides secure, read-only access, ensuring campaign data remains protected while enabling advanced analysis.

“Launching our Media Plan Management MCP Server marks a pivotal moment in Guideline’s agentic strategy,” said Steve Silvers, Chief Product Officer at Guideline. “By adopting the Model Context Protocol, we’re giving agencies the freedom to bring their own AI agents and unlock the full power of our platform.”

Guideline plans to expand MCP connectivity across its entire suite of media planning and data solutions, supporting the broader shift toward AI-native workflows in media planning and buying.
