CloudX Debuts With 30 Million Funding To Reinvent Mobile Monetization For The AI Age

CloudX has officially entered the mobile advertising landscape with ambitions to reshape how publishers generate revenue in an environment rapidly shifting toward intelligent automation. The new venture comes from the founders of MoPub and MAX, two platforms widely regarded as major catalysts in the evolution of mobile ad monetization. With their latest initiative, the team is positioning CloudX as an AI native supply side solution designed to meet the demands of modern automated systems rather than the static frameworks that dominated the past decade.

The company begins its journey with a significant boost through a 30 million Series A round led by Addition. The raise also includes participation from DST Global and Terrain, along with early backers ENIAC, Javelin, and Breakpoint Capital. CloudX intends to deploy this fresh capital toward deepening its product capabilities, expanding partner integrations, and accelerating the broader industry shift from fixed optimization models to intelligent architectures powered by autonomous agents.

Jim Payne, Co founder and CEO of CloudX, explained the need for a new foundation in the mobile advertising ecosystem. He stated, “AI is rewriting how mobile advertising functions, but most of the infrastructure supporting it hasn’t evolved. It’s about rebuilding the foundation, and CloudX brings transparency, intelligent automation, and adaptive optimization to the supply side so publishers can finally operate on equal footing in an AI driven ecosystem.” Payne is joined by Dan Sack and several veterans from the MoPub and MAX teams, reuniting the group that once steered some of the most defining innovations in mobile monetization.

A central component of CloudX is its Trusted Execution Environment, a secure and verifiable layer that underlies every auction and transaction. This environment ensures data integrity while enabling AI agents to handle decision making, bidding, and optimization in real time. According to the team, this approach is not only built to boost current publishing performance but also prepares the market for a future where generative experiences demand flexible and intelligent ad infrastructure that can evolve alongside user expectations.

CloudX is already open to mobile publishers and is preparing to go live with initial partners including Meta, Liftoff, and Magnite. Wider availability is expected by early 2026. Investors see the move as a pivotal moment for the industry, with Lee Fixel of Addition noting, “The CloudX team has consistently delivered innovations that have advanced the mobile industry from programmatic platforms to unified auctions. CloudX is the next leap. By defining what AI native infrastructure can achieve with transparency, autonomy, and sustainable value, CloudX is charting the course for the future of mobile advertising. We’re thrilled to lead this round and believe this team will continue to drive major changes in the industry.”
