FreeWheel Launches AI Agent Infrastructure for Streaming Ads

MarTech

As the streaming advertising ecosystem continues to expand, companies are increasingly exploring artificial intelligence to automate media buying and improve performance across premium video platforms. FreeWheel AI agent infrastructure is designed to support this shift by embedding AI driven automation directly into the systems that power premium video advertising transactions.

FreeWheel, a global technology platform serving the streaming advertising industry, announced the launch of its new AI agent infrastructure built on the company’s Model Context Protocol server and a suite of Intelligence tools. The new capabilities aim to automate workflows, optimize campaign performance in real time, and help advertisers and publishers manage premium video transactions with greater efficiency.

The launch represents a step toward transforming how premium video advertising is bought and sold. FreeWheel’s AI agent infrastructure allows artificial intelligence agents to interact directly with its platform through the Model Context Protocol server, which provides a secure framework for automated systems to access streaming advertising data and execute actions within the platform environment.

Built on this infrastructure, FreeWheel’s Intelligence tools continuously monitor deal performance, analyze advertising spend, evaluate inventory quality, track contractual commitments, and automate routine operational decisions. By combining these capabilities, the platform aims to reduce the manual processes that have traditionally characterized premium video advertising transactions.

Global independent platform company PMG is among the first partners piloting the technology. The company is testing the FreeWheel AI agent infrastructure within Alli, its proprietary marketing operating system, which enables media teams to manage global advertising strategies and performance analytics.

Through this integration, PMG teams and their clients can monitor deal performance, identify optimization opportunities, and manage streaming advertising campaigns more efficiently. The direct connection between Alli and FreeWheel’s platform allows the system to query and act on streaming data with minimal latency, enabling faster campaign adjustments.

“FreeWheel’s mission is to modernize how premium video is transacted, and that means embedding AI directly into the systems our clients rely on every day,” said Mark McKee, General Manager, FreeWheel. “With our MCP Server and Intelligence tools, we are creating a new foundation where AI can help buyers and sellers operate more efficiently, make smarter decisions, and unlock greater value from premium inventory. Partners like PMG are helping lead this transformation by putting these capabilities into action.”

The collaboration also enables PMG to expand the automation capabilities within its Alli platform. By connecting directly with FreeWheel’s infrastructure, the company can deploy agent based workflows that analyze streaming performance data and optimize advertising decisions more quickly.

“Often AI in our industry today is just a wrapper around generic models. What we have built with FreeWheel is true technical interoperability,” said Mike Treon, Head of CTV & Video Strategy at PMG. “By connecting Alli to FreeWheel in real-time, we have given our customers an agentic AI solution that goes beyond reporting and actually understands the streaming ecosystem. We are moving past manual setup to an era where teams use our industry-leading marketing operating system to optimize complex global deals instantly.”

The launch of the FreeWheel AI agent infrastructure is part of the company’s broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence across its platform and support automated media buying in the streaming advertising market. FreeWheel recently introduced cross platform agentic AI media buying during CES and plans to expand its AI powered capabilities throughout 2026.

As the streaming advertising market continues to grow, solutions like the FreeWheel AI agent infrastructure may play a central role in helping advertisers, publishers, and technology partners automate transactions and optimize performance across the evolving premium video ecosystem.
