Sensormatic Expands TrueVUE Cloud With PaaS Option for Retailers

Sensormatic Solutions has expanded its TrueVUE Cloud platform with a new deployment option designed to give retailers greater flexibility in how they manage RFID driven inventory intelligence. The announcement matters to the retail technology and MarTech ecosystem as more enterprises seek to modernize inventory management while continuing to rely on their own cloud infrastructure and data environments.

Sensormatic Solutions, the global retail solutions portfolio of Johnson Controls, said its TrueVUE Cloud inventory intelligence solution is now available as a platform as a service offering. The new TrueVUE Cloud PaaS option allows retailers to integrate Sensormatic’s inventory analytics directly into their existing cloud services rather than adopting a fully managed software model. The company plans to demonstrate TrueVUE Cloud PaaS capabilities at the 2026 NRF Big Show in New York.

TrueVUE Cloud was originally built as a software as a service platform to help retailers gain visibility into how products move across stores, distribution centers, and supply chains. According to Sensormatic Solutions, while the SaaS model lowered barriers for many organizations, a growing number of retailers wanted access to the same insights within their established technology stacks.

“We built TrueVUE Cloud as an all-in-one, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, so retailers could gain access to insights on how products move without having to build stacks from the ground up,” said Myron Burke, solutions management leader at Sensormatic Solutions. “This SaaS offering was designed to lower barriers to entry for many retailers. However, there was also an appetite for those insights, but within already established IT infrastructures. The PaaS model is a direct response to the call for flexibility, and can allow leaders to expand rather than replace their systems. This way, they can benefit from the best of both worlds and choose different deployment models that align with their IT strategy.”

Like the SaaS version, TrueVUE Cloud PaaS uses RFID data combined with point of sale, manufacturing, and operational inputs to help global retailers maintain high inventory accuracy and support omnichannel fulfillment. The PaaS approach extends access to the same analytics while allowing retailers to deploy the solution on their preferred cloud platforms using custom integrations developed by internal teams.

The platform is built on a decoupled, API first architecture that lets retailers select only the capabilities that matter most to their operations. This flexibility supports a wide range of use cases, from rapid cycle counts and real time product movement visibility to improved on floor availability and reduced out of stocks. Sensormatic Solutions said these capabilities can help retailers achieve inventory accuracy levels approaching ninety nine percent, reduce unnecessary markdowns through data driven merchandising, and improve associate productivity with more reliable product information.

TrueVUE Cloud’s stateless microservices architecture is designed to scale as retailer needs evolve, while its distributed design supports front and back end enhancements with minimal operational disruption. The PaaS ready offering includes a comprehensive API library, monitoring dashboards, software development kits, and support for independent software vendor integrations.

Sensormatic Solutions said the TrueVUE Cloud PaaS option will be available alongside its traditional SaaS model beginning in March 2026. As retailers balance modernization with system continuity, the expansion of TrueVUE Cloud signals how inventory intelligence platforms are adapting to hybrid cloud strategies and the growing demand for flexible RFID based solutions.
