The global press conference for COMPUTEX 2023

International and domestic technology leaders assemble to foster technological innovation

Today, May 30, marks the beginning of COMPUTEX 2023, an exhibition featuring over 1,000 manufacturers from 26 nations and regions across 3,000 booths in Halls 1 and 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Taipei Computer Association (TCA) and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the event’s organizers, also convened a global news conference today to welcome Taiwan to the forefront of technological innovation. Since the outbreak, this is the first live, international press conference to engage with the media.

The rise of artificial intelligence is driven by computing, according to TAITRA Chairman James Huang. “Numerous aspects of human life are impacted by the AI wave, which is also quickly altering our way of life. The topic of COMPUTEX this year is ‘Together we create,’ bringing together cutting-edge technological solutions and growing into a premier international technology event that draws startups.”

The Taipei Computer Association Chairman, Paul Peng, stated: “Recently, there has been a boom in global attention in the application of artificial intelligence, which has also boosted the procurement need for ‘HPC’ and diverse AI applications. Taiwan is a significant location for semiconductor development worldwide. The combination of engineering technology, mass manufacturing capacity, and on-time delivery to fulfill the needs of international customers are Taiwan’s ICT industry’s assets and benefits.”

Diverse and Exciting Activities successfully interpret the six exhibition-related themes

With a focus on six primary areas—high-performance computing, artificial intelligence applications, next-generation networking, hyperreality, innovations and startups, and sustainability—COMPUTEX focuses on cross-generational technology advancements and industry hot topics. The highly anticipated COMPUTEX keynote speakers include Jensen Huang, the Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, Alex Katouzian, SVP & GM, Mobile, Compute, XR (MCX), and Kedar Kondap, SVP and GM, Compute and Gaming from Qualcomm, Rafael Sotomayor, EVP and GM, Secure Connected Edge from NXP Semiconductors, Jason Chen, Chairman & CEO of Acer, and Charles Liang, Founder, President and CEO of Supermicro, and other leading companies.

Speakers for the COMPUTEX Forum were asked to address important technological issues such the metaverse, semiconductors, and sustainable advancements. In order to examine the newest technological trends, the speaker lineup includes senior executives and subject-matter experts from Taiwan and international businesses like Ampere Computing, Arm, ASUS, Delta, Lenovo, Intel, KIOXIA, NVIDIA, NXP, SIEMENS, Solidigm, STMicroelectronics, Supermicro, TAICCA, and Texas Instruments.

The exhibition will also feature a variety of events to foster global connections, including guided tours, CPX on Air live broadcasts throughout the event, Tech’em High for buyers’ happy hour, start-up pitches, start-up investment forums, procurement meetings, and more. COMPUTEX 2023 will serve as a platform to thoroughly showcase the outlook and growth of the international technology ecosystem.

A Sustainable Future is Built by COMPUTEX ESG GO!

This year, COMPUTEX organized ESG GO! activities and specifically implanted sustainable DNA in response to the global goal of reducing carbon emissions. The COMPUTEX Forum also hosts a technology sustainable innovation forum and features specifically made green booths with insert signs. The ESG GO! sign, which symbolizes the image of the green supply chain, is used to identify domestic and foreign exhibitors who have attained international sustainability certification. 18 businesses, including Acer, ASUS, BenQ, Delta, Gigabyte, Inventec, MSI, and Quanta Computer, have expressed enthusiasm for this.

Additionally, TAITRA partners with Acer to introduce the Earth Mission APP, a 21-day sustainable lifestyle app that encourages all exhibition attendees to develop their own energy-saving and carbon-reduction routines. The non-profit group One Tree Planted will plant trees in the Amazon rainforest based on how many people downloaded the APP during the show. To build a sustainable future, the organizers continue to collaborate with all of COMPUTEX’s partners.

Taiwan’s industrial prowess is highlighted at COMPUTEX 2023, which also links global technology players, start-up teams, and business buyers to develop limitless technological possibilities.
