The new Custom AI Companion empowers users to connect Zoom’s AI to 16 business-critical apps like Asana, Jira, ServiceNow, Google Drive, and more enabling them to automate project updates, streamline service workflows, summarize documents, and extract insights across touchpoints. According to Smita Hashim, Chief Product Officer at Zoom, the latest evolution is about freeing teams from routine manual tasks so they can focus on meaningful work. “With Zoom AI Companion’s agentic skills, users will see a significant productivity boost to help them get more done not just in Zoom, but across business-essential apps,” she said. “We’ve built AI that not only helps during meetings but also coordinates activities in tools people rely on daily.”

One of the most notable aspects of the rollout is its expanded availability. The Custom AI Companion is now available for online purchase, allowing small businesses, solopreneurs, and consultants to apply these AI capabilities across competing video platforms like Google Meet, with support for Cisco Webex coming soon. This marks a shift in Zoom’s positioning from a standalone video conferencing service to a central, AI-powered productivity hub.

Zoom’s AI roadmap continues to focus on giving users more contextual intelligence before, during, and after meetings regardless of where the conversation happens. The AI Companion now supports customized meeting summaries, smart follow-ups, voice transcriptions for in-person interactions, and personalized video content through avatars.
