As advertisers increasingly prioritize measurable performance and long term customer engagement, marketing technology companies are expanding their capabilities to support loyalty driven advertising strategies. The acquisition of Playback Rewards’ assets by Entravision marks a move to strengthen the Adwake performance offering, enabling more advanced targeting and loyalty based campaign solutions for brands.
Entravision Communications Corporation, a global advertising, media, and technology company, announced it has acquired the core technology, platform infrastructure, and product intellectual property of Playback Rewards. The newly acquired assets will be integrated into Adwake, Entravision’s performance advertising division, to accelerate development of loyalty rewards solutions designed to improve advertiser return on ad spend and customer retention.
The company said the acquisition reflects broader changes in digital advertising priorities as brands shift away from short term acquisition campaigns toward strategies that emphasize sustained engagement and measurable outcomes. By combining Playback’s technology with Adwake’s existing infrastructure, Entravision aims to provide advertisers with enhanced targeting capabilities and improved campaign optimization.
“This acquisition strengthens our performance offering at a time when advertisers are prioritizing efficiency, measurable outcomes, and long-term value,” said Michael Christenson, Chief Executive Officer of Entravision. “By integrating Playback’s technology into Adwake, we are enhancing our ability to deliver scalable customer loyalty solutions with improved targeting and performance optimization for brands.”
Adwake’s platform focuses on connecting brands with users who are more likely to convert and remain engaged over time. Loyalty rewards based advertising programs are designed to incentivize user interaction while enabling advertisers to track campaign performance and return on investment more precisely.
“Brands are no longer focused on short-term acquisition,” said Emre Atalay, Chief Executive Officer of Adwake. “Playback’s technology strengthens our targeting and optimization capabilities, allowing advertisers to reach the right users at the right moment and drive deeper engagement over time.”
The integration will support Adwake’s Rewarded and Loyalty advertising roadmap, expanding the company’s capabilities across mobile marketing environments. Entravision expects the addition of Playback’s technology to accelerate product innovation while providing advertisers with more sophisticated tools for identifying high intent audiences and improving long term campaign value.
Stanimir Kolev, General Manager for Rewarded Platforms at Adwake, emphasized the performance benefits of the integration. “Playback’s technology and product assets significantly improve our ability to identify high-intent users and optimize campaigns toward long-term value, which translates into better retention, higher ROAS, and a more meaningful value exchange between brands and users.”
The acquisition highlights how performance advertising platforms are evolving to incorporate loyalty based engagement models that prioritize retention alongside acquisition. As competition for digital attention intensifies, tools that combine targeting precision with incentive driven engagement may play a growing role in helping brands build stronger, longer lasting relationships with consumers.
By integrating Playback Rewards’ assets into the Adwake performance offering, Entravision is positioning itself to deliver more advanced loyalty driven advertising solutions in a market where advertisers increasingly demand efficiency, accountability, and sustained return on ad spend.
