As artificial intelligence becomes central to advertising measurement and brand safety, Integral Ad Science has reinforced its commitment to responsible AI governance through renewed global certification.
Integral Ad Science announced it has achieved annual recertification for ISO IEC 42001:2023, expanding the certification scope to include artificial intelligence applications across its Quality Attention and Ad Fraud solutions. The milestone positions IAS as the only digital ad verification provider currently holding accredited ISO 42001 certification, underscoring growing industry focus on transparency and accountability in AI driven advertising technologies.
ISO IEC 42001 is the world’s first international standard dedicated to Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, establishing guidelines for how organizations design, deploy, and manage AI responsibly. The certification audit was conducted by Schellman, an accredited certification body, and evaluates governance frameworks covering AI risk management, data privacy, ethical development practices, and ongoing monitoring of AI performance and impact.
The expanded certification highlights IAS’s efforts to ensure that innovation in artificial intelligence remains aligned with structured oversight and ethical safeguards. The company integrates AI across its media quality intelligence offerings to help advertisers measure attention, detect fraud, and improve campaign performance while maintaining compliance with global standards.
“Artificial Intelligence is a core pillar of IAS’s long-term data strategy, and our expanded certification reflects our high standards for responsible and ethical AI across our measurement products and services,” said Lisa Utzschneider, CEO of IAS. ”Trust is a crucial key performance indicator in the modern advertising industry, and we are committed to providing our customers with transparency and independent accreditation across our AI-driven solutions.”
ISO certification is widely recognized as a benchmark for safety, quality, and operational reliability. The ISO IEC 42001 framework includes requirements related to organizational strategy, governance models, human oversight, fairness considerations, environmental impact, and data quality monitoring, reflecting the broader responsibilities organizations face when deploying AI systems at scale.
IAS has continued to expand its leadership in responsible AI certification beyond ISO standards. The company was an early recipient of TrustArc’s Responsible AI certification and became the first organization to earn Ethical AI certification from The Alliance for Audited Media, making it the only company globally to hold this combination of credentials.
Artificial intelligence plays a significant role in IAS’s analytics infrastructure, where systems analyze more than 280 billion transactions daily across digital advertising impressions in real time. In December 2025, IAS introduced IAS Agent, an AI powered assistant built on more than 15 years of proprietary insights and designed around explainable AI principles to provide transparency into automated recommendations.
The ISO IEC 42001 recertification reinforces IAS’s position at a time when advertisers increasingly demand verified, trustworthy AI systems to support brand safety and campaign measurement. As regulatory scrutiny and industry expectations rise, standardized AI governance frameworks such as ISO IEC 42001 are becoming essential to maintaining confidence in AI powered media technologies.
