Manhattan Associates Expands AI Capabilities for Modern Retailers

MarTech

Manhattan Associates has announced a new wave of platform enhancements aimed at helping retailers increase sales, improve fulfillment decisions, and deliver more connected customer experiences across physical and digital channels. The update is significant for the retail and MarTech ecosystem as merchants look to embed artificial intelligence directly into daily operations rather than relying on disconnected analytics tools.

The latest enhancements focus on Manhattan Active Omni, the company’s cloud native commerce platform. Manhattan Associates said the new capabilities are designed to support both in store and online selling while giving frontline teams real time insight into inventory, sales performance, and customer behavior. Central to the announcement is the introduction of embedded agentic AI that operates directly within the user experience.

Manhattan Associates confirmed the commercial availability of three new AI agents within the Manhattan Active Omni interface. These include a Store Associate Agent, a Contact Center Agent, and an OMS Configuration Agent. Each agent uses a natural language interface to surface actionable insights related to store operations, sales trends, inventory positions, returns, and customer interactions. By making this intelligence accessible within existing workflows, the company aims to help associates resolve issues faster and deliver more personalized service.

“Retailers are under constant pressure to move faster, operate smarter, and deliver seamless experiences across every touchpoint,” said Brian Kinsella, SVP of Product Management at Manhattan Associates. “Our latest updates reflect Manhattan’s ongoing commitment to delivering cutting edge artificial intelligence within our applications. Whether it’s the myriad machine learning algorithms present for years or our new Agentic AI and Fulfillment Simulation capabilities, we’ve long believed true AI needs to live within rather than alongside our applications. We’re proud to partner with a number of world class retailers on the design and development of these breakthrough technologies.”

Beyond AI agents, Manhattan Associates continues to evolve its point of sale capabilities. Manhattan Active Point of Sale now includes a new Customer Facing Display designed to make checkout more interactive and efficient. Shoppers can view carts in real time, attach loyalty details, enter shipping information, and select receipt preferences directly on the display. Retailers can also capture customer input more accurately, helping speed transactions and reduce errors while creating a more engaging checkout experience.

The company also introduced a Fulfillment Optimization Simulation engine that allows retailers to model and compare different fulfillment strategies. The engine analyzes factors such as cost, speed, service levels, and margin using a consistent set of orders. Retailers can adjust rules, rerun scenarios, and compare outcomes side by side. The tool also supports what if planning by replaying historical or selected orders, helping teams anticipate constraints and evaluate operational trade offs before making changes.

Together, these enhancements reinforce Manhattan Associates’ strategy of delivering enterprise ready AI that is tightly integrated into commerce workflows. As retailers face increasing pressure to balance profitability, speed, and customer expectations, Manhattan Associates is positioning its platform to help organizations operate with greater confidence and agility in an increasingly complex retail landscape.
