Ping Wu is Named CEO of Cresta to Advance Generative AI Offerings

Wu plans to employ vast AI experience to lead the development of new contact center products and spur growth.

Ping Wu, a former leader at Google AI, has been named CEO of Cresta, a top provider of Generative AI for the contact center. After a record-breaking fourth quarter, Cresta co-founder Zayd Enam recently resigned to take on an advising role. Wu succeeds him. Wu has been employed at Cresta since 2021, and most recently held the position of interim CEO.

Wu’s hiring indicates Cresta’s continuous investment in leadership and experience in artificial intelligence to advance the company’s services. Co-founding Google’s Contact Center AI Solution in 2017 and managing the development of its Conversational AI Products, including Cloud Dialogflow, Cloud Translation, NLP, and Speech, Wu has significantly contributed to the mainstreaming of generative AI. Wu co-founded the Vertex AI and AutoML products on the Google Cloud AI Platform in 2018. Cresta continues to stake its claim as the industry leader for contact center AI, and Wu, as CEO, will continue to drive the evolution of the company’s ground-breaking Generative AI products.

Zayd’s support and partnership, as well as the Cresta board’s belief in my ability to lead, are both appreciated, added Wu. “Cresta is a pioneer in the contact center for generative AI technology, and I can’t wait to keep creating and launching brand-new, game-changing technologies. We have the chance to significantly influence both the agent and customer experiences through shaping AI’s future in the contact center.

The Real-Time Intelligence Platform at Cresta is powered by generative AI, enabling agents, managers, and executives to collaborate to maximize revenue, improve agency efficiency, and most importantly, deliver amazing client experiences. When compared to the conventional technologies used by contact centers, Cresta examines complicated statements, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to acquire a deeper knowledge of consumer dialogues.

“Ping is well positioned to take the helm of Cresta at a pivotal time for the industry with a unique mindset, deep domain expertise, and passion for how generative AI can transform the contact center,” stated Doug Leone, Partner, Sequoia Capital.

Enam stated, “I’m happy of what Cresta has done over the past several years and how the company has established itself as a top provider of Generative AI solutions for contact centers. “Ping’s passion for Generative AI will inspire the company to keep developing ground-breaking products that make Generative AI a strategic necessity for businesses,” according to the company.
